Abbaye de Beaulieu

Centre d’art contemporain
Centre des monuments nationaux

Founded in 1144 by Adémar III, bishop of Rodez and sold during the Revolution, the abbey became an agricultural holding, thus escaping demolition and ruin. In 1963, Pierre Brache and Geneviève Bonnefoi bought the abbey, restored it and endowed it with a collection of modern art. In 1973 it was donated to the Centre des monuments nationaux.
